Chegwyn Farms Neighborhood Park is a 4-acre park located in McMinnville, Oregon. The property was donated to the Yamhill County Soil and Water Conservation District (YCSWCD) by the Chegwyn family who had farmed the land for the past century. YCSWCD agreed to lease the property to the City of McMinnville to satisfy a need for a neighborhood park.

MacKay Sposito was hired by the City of McMinnville to complete a master planning process for the park followed by detailed design and implementation of the master planned improvements. MacKay Sposito facilitated a public involvement process allowing the community to establish the desired park program and guide the master planning process. Additional coordination occurred with the Chegwyn family and YCSWCD to identify and develop interpretive opportunities that will acknowledge and preserve the site’s agrarian heritage. The proposed park program includes walkways, a group shelter, a restroom, site furnishings, open lawn, formal and informal groves of trees, a skate park, a playground, and a creative/interpretive play area. The master plan was adopted unanimously by the City Council and led to the annexation of the park site into the city limits by public vote.

In addition to the park specific features, MacKay Sposito also designed the necessary supporting infrastructure including sanitary sewer, water, and stormwater utilities.
