Project Summary

Client: Bonneville Power Administration
Location: Soda Springs, ID
Service Provided: Land Surveying

Mackay Sposito performed the surveying and mapping of the proposed Hooper Springs-Lanes Creek 33-mile transmission line in eastern Idaho. The line will feature a combination of mono-pole steel and wood H-frame pole construction.

Multiple alignment options were considered and surveyed. The project included the cadastral retracement of 36 sections of land within 6 townships, including first standard parallel south, Boise Meridian. MacKay Sposito also completed all Plan and Profile Maps.

Efforts included performing all surveying and mapping tasks necessary to complete the design and acquire rights and permits. We completed Location Line (L-Line) surveys along with all associated surveys such as control, structure sites, access roads and crossings. We also performed cadastral and property corner ties, completed Land Acquisition Requests (LAR’s) for transmission line easements, and prepared Access Road Acquisition Requests (ARAR’s) for access road easements.

MacKay Sposito quickly planned and mobilized for this effort with only one months’ notice. Given the long-term nature of the project, a project office was necessary to provide the best and most cost-effective service. We found, leased, and equipped a project office in just one month and relocated 10 existing employees there.
