Value Engineering Studies

MacKay & Sposito, Inc.(M&S) has performed numerous Value Engineering (VE) studies for the Clark County Department of Public Works in 2002 and 2003. The VE study process is typically initiated at the completion of the 30% design plans. The VE process is used to “add value” to the project which often is achieved by proposing an alternative design that preserves the function of the original design but may produce cost savings, or other value improvements related to environmental impacts and permitting, construction staging and constructability, impacts to the public, or aesthetics. M&S offers VE study facilitation to public agency clients. Facilitation includes coordination with the project manager, VE team, design staff, and any other key stakeholders. At the conclusion of the VE study, M&S will prepare a final report and present the team’s recommendations to the client.
