Project Highlights

  • Brand new building from the ground up
  • Required large underground cable vault with rolling garage door access. The forming of the cast-in-place cable vault was complex, requiring more than 60 conduit entrances.
  • Material delays posed a challenge which the team was able to overcome by rescheduling the work to maintain the completion date.

Client: Bonneville Power Administration
Location: Rufus, OR
Services Provided:
  • Construction Management/Inspection

The construction project includes a new BPA 115kV relay house to be
constructed at the Big Eddy 230/115kV substation. The construction effort
for this project includes site civil, outdoor electrical, indoor electrical, and relay
house architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural as outlined below.

Challenges were encountered when connecting to the existing storm drainage
system which was found to be at a different elevation and location than shown
in reference drawings. Collaboration between engineers and contractors was
imperative to resolve the issue and maintain the schedule. No recordable
incidents occurred during the construction project and teamwork was very
high.
