MacKay Sposito completed an ADA Assessment and Transition Plan for over 30 park and recreation facilities, including athletic fields, restrooms and concessions buildings, and parking lots within their system. We developed a checklist tailored to specifically assess the types of facilities within their system and trained their staff in the field to accurately evaluate the facilities based on the checklist. Once the data was collected and assessed, we provided a list of prioritized solutions to correct the deficiencies along with budget estimates and a timeline for completion of the upgrades. All of the information was then organized into an ADA Transition Plan that guides the planning and implementation of facility modifications over the next 10 years and establishes the methodology for continued improvements to the city’s parks beyond the 10-year plan.
