Bandon-Rogue No 1 - survey
Bandon-Rogue No 1 - transmission lines and wood poles

Project Summary

Client: HDR (for Bonneville Power Administration)
Location: Bandon, OR
Service Provided: Land Surveying

The Bandon-Rogue No. 1 115kV transmission line spans 46 miles between the Bandon and Rogue substations in Oregon. MacKay Sposito’s survey team was selected to support an H-frame wood pole rebuild of the line.

The majority of the alignment was in dense brush. Routes of access to the right-of-way varied significantly and included maintained county roads, drivable surfaced roads, dirt roads, and roads almost impassable by full-size trucks.

MacKay Sposito’s work included retracement of the Location Line (L-line), control, crossing surveys, staking for approximately 50 new structures, and extensive cadastral and property corner ties. We established LiDAR control and LiDAR data acquisition through a subcontractor, complete with confidence checks on the data. We also prepared new plan and profile maps of the transmission line.
