The City of Kennewick envisions Ridgeline Road as a gateway into the City and the Southridge subarea. With this vision in mind, the City set out to design and construct an expansion of the road in the vicinity of its intersection with US 395.
MacKay Sposito was tasked with geometric alternative development and final design for two roundabouts associated with the project: one at Ridgeline Road and Plaza Way and the other at Ridgeline Road and Zintel Way. The roundabout at Ridgeline and Plaza is a two-lane spiral roundabout, while the Ridgeline and Zintel roundabout is a single-lane spiral configuration.
Our work included topographic and boundary surveys, right of way legal descriptions and exhibits, coordination of latecomer agreements and property owner cost sharing, civil design of the roundabouts, and landscape architecture.
The multi-lane roundabout at Ridgeline and Plaza is complete, while the roundabout at Ridgeline and Zintel is planned to be built when the adjacent land is developed.
